Phat Cat is the husband/wife team of Pat William and Tara Engler.
Born from Pat and my discontent with To The Max slack off period.
Pat was invited to be the lead guitar player on one of my Bone Dry gigs. I invited Tara, who happen to be on at the club that night to sit in and sing a blues tune. They are now husband and wife.
Our first gig was Amberjacks in South Norwalk. We learned 30 new songs in 30 days.
Tara pushed us to sing harmonies and it was this band that I began to
play Congas.
We played a lot of cool Motown, Temptations,Jackson Five and plenty of rock jams. What a great band, great front person, Pat and My signature sound. Young enthusiastic back up musicians.......and then.
Tara got pregnant. Conner is a beautiful boy. Phat Cat is history.

Moses Gomberg Quintet
My first band. Boy did we suck!
Never played a gig but sure acted like we did.
Tightness, talent, equipment, all things missing from this band.
But we sure had fun! Night after night we would make up original songs, many on the spot, record them and laugh....hard.
Most subjects revolved around Stews misadventures with women.

Jay Sanza : Guitar
Jerry Vig : Guitar

Worm Guillotine
Worm Guillotine, A Punk alter ego created by Vocalist, Writer, Warzone Maxwell. ( name altered )
In a nutshell, this was a crazy fantasy of a band.
I mention it because it was this band that I actually started to think about music, structure and actual writing.
We played dopey original music, mostly for the entertainment ourselves and our friends. "I like Eating Hamsters" comes to mind.
We actually worked with producer/musician Chris Toelken of Toelken Music Productions, and recorded "Rank Dude" and "Dont Tell Alice."
It was the latter that I first picked up the Harp for a solo break.
The rest is harmonica history. Although these songs were expertly produced and actually pretty good, it was the raw recording of Toxic Waste that defined us. Done in my living room, after 20 takes, vocalist Warzone Maxwell nailed what was to be his best performance.
The band went nowhere but keep alive for sometime through his
creative imagination.
